This is a sound sketch trying to replicate the sound-walk near my house. This is for an assignment for the music appreciation course of loyola high school. The sound sketch includes sounds from freesound. Org such as car making a doppler effect, wind, birds cawing, and footsteps on concrete.

The ambiance changes slightly in the different rooms. I used an sm58 and an irig pro on an ipad using garageband and mastered in cubase.

Go out and record some sounds wihtout labeling them, then bring them back and try to identify every sound you hear on playback. It's tough, but it's a good way to train your ears. Boots walking through short grass. Heavy rain the previous day had created a large amount of mud which can also be heard in this recording. Should be enough space in between each step to be effectively cut up for foley work. Recorded with a ntg2 mono shotgun microphone into a r05 recorder.
